Facing increasing competition in the cruiser motorcycle marketplace, Medina, Minnesota-based Polaris Industries recognized the need to get new Victory bikes to market with greater frequency. But the company saw little opportunity to shorten development cycles through its current mode of durability testing on the test track, without also jeopardizing the quality and cost performance that have made Victory such a favorite among critics and riders.
John Callahan, Engineering Director for Polaris Industries, discusses how MTS helped his company precisely simulate the loads and moments of the test track in the controlled and repeatable environment of the test lab. This move has made more insightful and repeatable testing possible in far less time and with greater cost-efficiency, allowing Polaris to get new and better Victory motorcycles to market more often.
