Wire Rope and Cable Testing
Wire rope and cable testing is essentially a large-scale materials test performed on sections of wire, cable and chain used in suspension bridges and other civil structures, as well as in many marine and mining applications. Tests are typically static and cyclic, performed under load control, and often require high-force load frames. These tests reveal important information about the performance and life span of these components under realistic operating conditions.
MTS excels in high-force, high-performance mechanical testing and has more than 40 years of experience durability testing and the entire spectrum of materials testing. In other words, we have the expertise required to develop custom-designed test systems for this unique application.
