The latest addition to MTS' K&C portfolio is purpose-engineered for meeting industry demands for increased suspension measurement precision and flexibility.
The new Passenger Car K&C System provides highly precise and repeatable measurement of fast-evolving electric passenger car and SUV suspension designs. Smaller, lighter and easier to install than its predecessors, this next generation system can be used to perform a full spectrum of kinematic and compliance (K&C) deflection measurement applications at the highest levels of accuracy and throughput. State-of-the-art MTS controls and software extend the utility of the system to include dynamic operation, real-time hybrid simulation, and the integration of ancillary EtherCAT devices. As with all MTS K&C systems, system-level calibration methods are employed to ensure optimal measurement accuracy.
Ideal for evolving electric vehicle designs, the flexible Passenger Car K&C features high-fidelity wheel motion sensors, new steer input assemblies, increased track width and wheelbase adjustment, highly adjustable body clamping, and more.
High-fidelity Wheel Motion Sensors provide unmatched accuracy in both absolute and relative modes, and enable measurement across a larger range of wheel motion:
|
Longitudinal: |
±90 mm |
|
Lateral: |
±90 mm |
|
Vertical: |
±240 mm |
|
Camber Angle: |
±10° |
|
Spin Angle: |
±45° |
|
Steer Angle: |
±45° |
New Steer Input Assemblies provide backlash-free operation and are engineered to apply the increased steer angle (± 50°) and steer torque (± 1000 Newton-meters) needed for electric vehicles.
Increased Track Width & Wheelbase with automated positioning and clamping accommodates a wider array of vehicles, including micro-cars, passenger cars, and SUVs.
Flexible Body Clamping provides varying degrees adjustability to more readily engage evolving electric vehicle chassis designs.
